For women navigating menopause
Still hurting after stretching, exercises, or physical therapy? Try a gentler approach.
Feldy is a guided online movement program based on the Feldenkrais Method®. Instead of asking you to stretch or strengthen an already sensitive back, it helps retrain how you move, so everyday movement can become easier and more comfortable. Many members notice a difference within their first week.

From people with women navigating menopause
“Perimenopause came in like a stranger. I could not sleep, my hips ached, and movements that were easy a year ago suddenly were not. I was not ready to give up my body. After a few weeks of these lessons I was sleeping in stretches again, and the morning stiffness had loosened. I am not back to where I was, but I am no longer fighting my body every day.”
Clare G.
Architect, 51
“My body started feeling unfamiliar around fifty-two. Hips, shoulders, the small of my back, all places that used to move without thinking became places I now negotiated with. After a month of the program I was getting out of a car without bracing first. The stiffness has not vanished, but I am less of a stranger to my own body.”
Catherine W.
Lawyer, 56
97% of Chava’s students said they would definitely recommend Feldenkrais to a friend.
Does this sound like your body?
- Mornings are stiffer than they used to be. You cannot remember when that started.
- You wake at 3 in the morning and your body feels like a stranger's.
- Movements that were automatic a year ago have become a calculation.
- You avoid movements you used to do without thinking. The morning stretch. The reach to your back. The standing up that used to be one motion.
- Your body changed faster than anyone warned you it would.
You have not lost your body. You have lost the trust that today's body works like yesterday's.
The body changes of menopause are real, and Feldenkrais does not pretend otherwise. What it can offer is a way to stay in conversation with your changing body, instead of fighting it. Many of the experiences that arrive in this phase, including stiffness, restless sleep, and the sense of being braced, are amplified by a nervous system that has not adjusted to the new normal. Feldenkrais speaks to that nervous system directly. The lessons cannot reverse menopause; they can help you live more easily inside the body you are becoming.

How this works, in plain terms
- 1
Lie down, on your bed or a rug, wherever the body can settle. No equipment, no setup, nothing to push against.
- 2
Press play and follow Chava's voice. The movements are small and slow, and stay well inside the easy range. You never stretch, push, or force, and if something does not feel good, you simply do not do it.
- 3
Notice the difference. Many people stand up after the lesson and feel the hips and lower back a little quieter, the first few steps a little more like their own.
What you will feel in the first lesson
- 1.Your back may rest into the surface beneath you in a way it has not for a long time, and your shoulders may soften with it.
- 2.Your breath can deepen on its own, and your chest may feel less held.
- 3.When you stand up afterward, your hips and lower back may feel quieter, and the first few steps can feel less effortful.
Why Feldenkrais works for women navigating menopause
1. Your changing body is not a failing body. It is a body that may need new patterns.
Many of the movements you learned in your twenties were tuned to a body that has since changed. Movements that once felt automatic can suddenly feel effortful, awkward, or unfamiliar. Feldenkrais can help the nervous system catch up to the body you are becoming, so daily movements often feel easier again.
2. Slow, attentive movement can quiet the bracing that compounds menopausal stiffness.
Hormonal shifts can make the system more reactive. Stress, poor sleep, and the unfamiliar sensations of perimenopause all push the nervous system toward bracing, which can compound the very stiffness it was trying to protect against. The lessons can help interrupt that response.
3. Change comes from noticing, not forcing.
You will not push through stiffness. You will not force movement. You will pay close attention to small motions, in positions where the body is supported, and that attention is what tends to create change you can feel before you stand back up.

What the Feldy Program looks like
Ten guided audio lessons, about two a week at your own pace, each between 30 and 45 minutes. Short daily rituals fill in the days between lessons, five to ten minutes in the morning and five to ten minutes before bed, so the practice stays with you. A Feldy subscription keeps every lesson and ritual open, and unlocks a growing library of advanced lessons beyond the first ten.
A few lessons you will reach:
Awakening Your Back
Stage 1
Reconnect the parts of your body that have stopped moving together, so everyday motion can start to feel fluid and familiar again.
Find Ease Through Breath
Stage 2
Sleep, anxiety, and hormone shifts all narrow the breath. This lesson invites the rib cage to soften, and the rest of the body often softens with it.
Shoulder Freedom
Stage 3
Frozen shoulder becomes noticeably more common during menopause. This lesson is the gentle entry point that lying-down work makes possible.
Rotation of the Spine
Stage 4
Turning is often the first movement to quiet during this phase. This lesson invites back the small rotations that walking, reaching, and sleeping all depend on.
Common questions
Is this for perimenopause or postmenopause?
Both. The body changes of perimenopause and the more settled state of postmenopause are different phases of the same transition, and the lessons are designed for both. People often begin in perimenopause when the changes feel most disorienting and continue through postmenopause as their relationship with the body settles.
Does this help with hot flashes or hormonal symptoms?
Not directly. Feldenkrais is not a treatment for hormonal symptoms, and it does not replace medical care during menopause. What it can do is calm the nervous system: ease the volume of the stress response that often makes symptoms feel more intense, ease the tension that accumulates around the changes, and quiet the restlessness that comes from a body in a heightened state. Many people find this layer of support meaningful even when the underlying biology is unchanged.
Can I do this if I am on HRT?
Yes. Feldenkrais is compatible with any medical treatment, including HRT, and does not interfere with medication. Many people on HRT use the method to support the physical and emotional aspects that medication does not directly address.
Will this help me lose menopausal weight?
No. The method is not a weight loss program, and we do not make claims about it. What it can do is help you live more comfortably inside the body you have, which for many people during menopause is the priority that traditional fitness culture does not honor.
How is this different from yoga or stretching?
Different mechanism, very gentle and soft. There is no pose to hold and no stretch to push into. You lie down, you move in small ways, you notice what changes. The work happens in your attention, not in your effort. For women in menopause this matters: when the system is already braced, slow attentive movement tends to be a more direct way to invite it to settle.
What if I do not feel anything in the first lesson?
That is fine and common. The effects can be subtle the first time. The change often shows up after the lesson, in how you sleep, in how you wake up, or by the second or third lesson as the pattern begins to update.
