For physiotherapists

A gentle home movement practice that sits alongside physiotherapy

Feldy is a library of Feldenkrais Method® lessons, guided by voice, that people can use on their own between visits and after discharge. Every lesson is voiced by Chava Sorani, a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner.

Free for 7 days. No credit card, and nothing to set up for your clinic.

Where it may fit

Between visits

When visits are weeks apart, people need something they can do on a harder day. Lessons are guided entirely by voice, so attention can stay on the movement rather than on a screen.

When movement feels guarded

Some people find it easier to explore movement when the task is small, slow and comfortable. Feldy offers another low intensity way to notice movement between visits. It can sit alongside graded exposure when that is part of the plan, not replace it.

After discharge

For people who want a simple movement practice once their course of care ends. They use Feldy on their own, with no setup or ongoing management from the clinic.

What a lesson is like

What a patient would actually do, if you suggested it.

10 to 15 min

Morning and bedtime lessons

30 to 40 min

The ten core lessons of the Feldy Program

Mostly lying down

On a mat, rug or bed; a few lessons are seated

Their own pace

They set the range, rest whenever they like, and can stop at any point

No equipment and no screen to watch: just a voice guiding the movement.

How a lesson works

  1. 1

    A small movement

The lesson starts with one simple movement, done slowly and well within comfort.

  2. 2

    Variations

It changes one thing at a time: the direction, the speed, which part leads, how big the movement is.

  3. 3

    Noticing differences

The person notices what changes: which parts join in, and where effort shows up that is not needed.

In motor learning terms, this is low effort exploration with attention on sensory feedback and variability. The trials below measure outcomes, not mechanism, so why it helps, when it does, is not settled.

What Feldy is not

Not physiotherapy

It does not replace the plan of care you set, or change it.

Not a substitute

For precautions after surgery, or for the home program you prescribe.

Not a diagnosis

No assessment, and no promise of an outcome.

We tell members that when they work with a clinician, that clinician's guidance about their own body comes first.

Selected research

What has actually been studied

Feldenkrais as a physiotherapy tool: 16 randomized trials

Berland and colleagues, systematic review and meta-analysis, 2022

Studied
Sixteen randomized trials across older adults, neck, shoulder and low back pain, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.
Found
In older adults, a large pooled improvement on the Timed Up and Go test. In spine pain, the authors concluded the effects were comparable to other physiotherapy techniques. No difference in self-efficacy in multiple sclerosis.
Limits
Small trials of mixed methodological quality, with varied comparison groups.

Added to core stabilization exercise

Saki and colleagues, BMC Geriatrics, 2025

Studied
Randomized trial, 30 women aged 60 to 80 with chronic low back pain: dynamic neuromuscular stabilization alone, or the same exercises plus Feldenkrais lessons, for 8 weeks.
Found
Both groups improved. The combined group improved significantly more on pain, fear of movement (Tampa Scale) and lumbar range of motion. A 2026 trial with 37 completers found greater pain reduction and hip strength gains, and no between group difference in balance.
Limits
Small, single centre trials, measured right after the 8 weeks with no long term follow up.

Balance training that starts from sensation

Elshinnawy and colleagues, Physiotherapy Research International, 2026

Studied
Randomized trial, 26 adults with diabetic polyneuropathy: Feldenkrais based training or conventional balance training, twice a week for 24 weeks.
Found
The Feldenkrais group improved on Timed Up and Go, limits of stability, fear of falling and quality of life, and did better than the conventional group on all of them.
Limits
One small trial; the result needs replicating before it is generalized.

Most Feldenkrais trials are small, and their quality varies. Feldenkrais is a way of learning easier movement, not a medical treatment. Between Sessions goes through the studies one at a time, with the questions they raise.
